Assignment Types

Assignment Types are considered to be the various types of work you assign to your students. Candle comes pre-seeded with several types: Homework, Quiz, Review, Test, Final Review, Final Test.

Homework is often in question--what is it? Homework is simply the ordinary day-to-day work assigned to the students. Because students are typically permitted to take this work home, we termed it Homework.

Adding Assignment Types

Typically, Candle's pre-seeded assignment types are sufficient for most use cases. However, if you should need additional types, feel free to add them by going to Setup > Assignment Types.

Removing Assignment Types

If you've added additional types, you can remove them safely. However, do not remove the three standard types: Homework, Quiz, and Test. These are deeply integrated into core system functions and will have adverse effects on the entire system.

Updating Assignment Types

Edit types by navigating to Setup > Assignment Types. Multiple details can be edited such as name, color and whether or not it's active.

Inactivating a type-types can be de-activated by editing a type and unchecking the Active box. Then save the type.
