Candle’s inventory management makes it simple to track the thousands of your schools book assets. Use handheld scanners to quickly identify a stray book’s owner or location.

Google Books & Open Library

Easily add books to your inventory simply by scanning their barcode or entering their ISBN. Candle looks up the books on Google Books and Open Library to retrieve details, at no extra charge for you.

Candle allows you to setup a kiosk user that is limited to checking out users with a valid library card and valid barcoded book. this can be useful for older students checking out younger students.

Immunization Management

Track which students received which vaccines. Log administration date, attending phyisician, notes and more. Automatically generate and print required immunization sheets to send home with the students.

Basic Physician Portal

On the immunization form that is sent home with the students, QR code is printed to provide easy remote sign services. The doctor or nurse scans the code and providdes details about the administration, including signature, vaccines and notes.

Ear & Eye Exams

Track ear and eye exams as taken at school or else where.

General Health Reports

Log height, weight and notes for students. BMI and BFP are genearted automatically using national standards.

Typing Features

Finally, a distraction free typing environment.

Teachers assign the lessons...

The typing teacher (or homeroom teacher) assigns the lessons from their user account. He/she can also edit and review completed work.

...students perform the lessons...

The students perform the lessons on an 8½ x 11 typing surface, just like a traditional typewriter. A built in quiet timer eliminates the need for noisy classroom timers.

...and finally, complete the lessons.

If another class interrupts the typing, the lesson can easily be saved to be picked up later. After a typing lesson is completed, the lesson can be printed, or marked as ready for the teacher’s review.

Text Messages

Support for SMS messaging. After the message is broadcasted, a status page shows you the status of each message for maximum transparency. We’ve partnered with SignalWire to ensure high deliverability rates.

Phone/Audio Messages

To broadcast a voice message, we’ve provided several ways to do so. Upload a recording as an Mp3 or WAV, or have Candle give you a call, and instructions will be provided. A status page gives you an overview of who’s received the message.
